the “Archibal’s coin” is a golden coin with to faces, the first one, the “head” is decorated with a skull with two bones below it. The second face, the “tail”, show a cross like one that you can find on pirate’s treasure map.

History

This cursed object is the materialised soul of an ancient pirate, Archibal’ “the gambler”. This man was known across the seas for throwing a coin everytime before he’ll go to a fight or he’ll go to plunder another ship. He always had the rules that he’ll let live his enemys if it lands on head, but kills them if it lands on head.

He was a strong captain and find fortune in the seas plundering the poor ships that crossed his path. But one time, he found a map, like every other map he found before, he goes after it to maybe find a treasure or something valuable. But the journey was long, very long, so long that his crew started to feel that Archibal’ maybe wasn’t the great captain that people says he was. It started with rumors around the ship, but goes on and on until the crew started to do a mutiny. This time Archibal’ coudn’t fight, and right before he was given to the sharks, he tried one last time. He toss the coin… and died on the “sea of knives”.

There is no record of the face of the coin when it landed….

The ship sunk a few month after the incident due to a fight with corsairs, but no one could find any valuable resources except for this coin.

Usage and features

The coin is a cursed object that create a “deadly gamble” between two participants, based on a coin toss.

Here is the rules of the game :

• The face with a skull and two bones is called “head” and the face with a cross is called the “tail”.
• The first participant is called “the tosser” and is the one initiating the game.
• The tosser choose the other participant that is called the “target”.
• Once done, the tosser toss the coin, and an action will proceed depending on what the coin will lands. :
  • If it lands on tail, the target will immediatly died and his soul will be capture onto the coin
  • if it lands on head, the tosser will immediatly died and his soul will be captured onto the coin
  • if it lands on the edge, every souls captured onto the coin will be released.
• Every souls have a weight, if a soul is captured on the tail part, there is more chance to lands on head the next time the game will be played
• Once it lands on the edge, the coin will no longer have weight until it captures souls again
