Everything starts on a little planet where it’s inhabitants, no matter wich languages they spoke, called it “The great river”.

This planet was named after it’s interesting property of energy flowing all around the planet like rivers, lake and oceans.

Biological creatures couldn’t either touch it, watch it, scent it or even know about it, except if the perfect conditions were matched.

They called this energy “mana” and the peoples that studies it mages…

No fireball, nor gravitional changes, nor psychic readings here. The “mana” were only use as a new source of energy, same as nuclears, or electricity in our world.

What’s make it the strongest energy of this world yet discovered, is it’s ability to reverse immovable forces and movable forces. Make it able to change even the tiniest things, DNA, atoms or cells. With it cops is easier to grow and heat and electricity are easier to produce.

But all of that take a really hard and slow process to get there, first mages needed a recipient that could contain mana, then a “flow break” that will deviate the course of the mana flow to the recipient and finally an “unifier” that will unify the mana to an exact point to make it usable and make it able to interact with the world. All of that take time to create and even great mages aren’t always sure at 100% if their work will pay off, but some of them were better than the others.

And one of them was “Anta”, a famous mage known for it’s great contribution in how to recognized materials that are mana-conductor. But she was not fond of the fame, she never wanted it, just wanted to learn and discover new things, so as her personality asked, she answered : she wanted to make a new kind of material by herself.

Most of the material mana-conductor at the time where solid, hard as a rock, sometimes they were just the rock itself. So she wanted to create something more flexible, something easier to take and to move than a 1.5 tons of rock.

She studies days after days, trying to figure out how to make minerals into a small string, small enough to make clothes out of it. She really wanted to make clothes, she thought that being that close to a mana-conductor object could affect the body of the people that wears it.

And after some years she finally did it, a long string really long, so thing it could be cut with scisors without breaking the mana-conductivity. So she reach out an old friend of her, a tailor, to make her a hat, a mage hat. Mage hat in this world represents a lot, the first one a mage get, is the one representing the end of your study at mages school, then you’ll obtain different kind of hat depending of the grade you are or the sector of activity you operates in.

The tailor, trained himself first, by using thin strings from basic material, then after a couple of month and the agreement of “Anta”, he started the conception of the hat using the mana-conductor string.

Fortunately, the hat conception was a success, and Anta got her beautiful hat. Quickly after the process, she knew that a mineral at this state couldn’t be stable if she didn’t apply a proper amount of heat to it. So she manage stabilize the string but hat decreased in size after the process, but it didn’t bother her.

Something that she couldn’t predict, was the greed of his tailor, without her knowing, he kept hidden the leftovers of the string used to make the hat. After her leaving his workshop, he quickly wanted to do another hat, to impress Anta in case she needed another one.

The new hat was similar to the first one, nothing different, even the nametag and the name written on it was the same. His mistakes were that he lacked the knowledges of the material his using…

A few weeks after, the hat seated on a shelf, started to open a first eye…

Then a second…

Started growling for a few minutes…

Then nothing…. Literally nothing… no more sound

no more workshop,
